At Crickets we believe in the value of tradition. Good eating has its roots in that very idea. Recipes are passed on from generation to generation, each bringing something new to the table. Our history is just as important as the dishes that we serve each and every day.
John and Sissy Eason founded Crickets Restaurant in 1989 and coined the name after hearing the sweet sound of crickets chirping in the Pine Mountain woods. Having moved here from New Orleans, they brought the authentic local cuisine along with them and paired it alongside All American classics. They established Crickets as a staple in this small Georgia town.
Don and Wanda Kauffmann bought Crickets in November of 2000, carefully training with the Eason’s in the New Orleans style to carry on their tradition. Although the building has seen many changes over the years our food mostly remains the same original recipes that our patrons have grown to love.
Today, Crickets Restaurant is committed to offering quality food in a relaxing and family friendly environment. Whether you are visiting us from across the country or down the street, our goal is to make you feel at home.
To our valued customers who may not be familiar with New Orleans cuisine, our foods are tastefully seasoned but are not spicy hot. We offer several additional spices so you have the opportunity to further season to your taste.
